Discover Aval Tower
Aval Tower, a telecommunications and tourist marvel, stands proudly on Avala Mountain near Belgrade. This iconic structure, originally operational since 1965, has a storied past marked by destruction and revival, making it a symbol of resilience and progress.
A Rich History
Aval Tower was initially put into operation in 1965, following its design phase from 1959 to 1960. Standing at 202.87 meters, it quickly became one of the most beautiful TV transmitters in Europe and a beloved landmark for travelers approaching Belgrade. Unfortunately, during the NATO bombing of FR Yugoslavia on April 29, 1999, the tower was demolished. The reconstruction began on February 6, 2007, and despite delays due to weather conditions, the renovated Aval Tower was completed on October 23, 2009. The grand reopening took place on April 21, 2010, in the presence of Serbian state leadership.
